My story
I have been making art since high school and after graduating in 2015 I vowed to make it my life’s work. I have also been freelance writing professionally since 2022 after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
I’ve curated the brand of One Groovy Gal since 2016 and have made over 3000 sales and hundreds of custom artworks from paintings to graphics, murals, and live event paintings.
My shop was originally named “Oneloveartshop” for the first few years because I loved Bob Marley and any kind of loving message advocating peace and empathy.
That ethos pervades my work to this day.
I am now a full time artist and writer making art of empowering figures, nature, and portraits.
I often create collections of works centered around a theme and then donate a portion of profit to a charity or philanthropic cause. Since 2016, I have run a “Save the […]” series of 3 stickers and donated a portion of overall profit to the Ocean Cleanup, Chimp Haven, and Save the Elephants. In February 2025, I painted a bird collection and donated over $150 toward the Nature Conservancy. I have also run sales toward a cause; in 2024 I ran a sale in order to donate a portion of profit to Amnesty International, a human rights organization.
I have plans to expand the philanthropic scope of my artwork and am excited to see how we can help make the world a more beautiful, loving place together.
The blog here is where I practice and explore my craft as a writer and lifelong learner. I also write freelance regularly for over four magazines, including local publications like The Outer Banks This Week, The North Beach Sun, NC Farm Bureau Magazine Field & Family, as well as a literary publication based in Rome called The American where I have a monthly book column.
